Contaminated Water — What Should You Do?

Contamination often occurs when underground reservoirs or pipelines are not properly cleaned. Regular maintenance can prevent such issues.

Preventive Measures:

  1. Maintain all internal pipelines to avoid contamination from underground sources. If a new line is needed, it must be installed with permission from the Corporation. Failure to comply may lead to disconnection (Sections 258, 278 of the KMC Act).

  2. Cover all underground and overhead reservoirs properly and clean them weekly with bleaching powder. Uncovered or neglected reservoirs can become mosquito-breeding grounds and cause disconnection (Sections 275/1(b), 496).
